However, its first symptom is the inability to achieve pregnancy. If, after a year of unprotected sex (six months, if the woman is older than 35) the couple has not reached conception, we consider that they should seek <u>professional help.<\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong>In women,<\/strong>menstrual and ovulation problems may be related to conditions that affect fertility. Relevant symptoms that you should report to your doctor are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Menstrual irregularities, for example very increased or very little blood loss<\/li>\n<li>Irregular periods or amenorrhea. Sudden cessation of menstruation<\/li>\n<li>Pain during the period. Pain in the waist, pelvis and \/ or period cramps<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Female infertility can also be associated with hormonal disorders. Symptoms may include skin changes, acne, changes in libido, facial hair growth, hair loss or thinning, weight gain.<\/p>\n<p>Other symptoms or disorders related to infertility may include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pain during sex<\/li>\n<li>Secretion of white fluid from the breast nipples<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>In men<\/strong>, the symptoms associated with infertility are more vague. These include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Changes in hair growth<\/li>\n<li>Changes in sexual desire<\/li>\n<li>Pain, swelling or a lump in the testicles<\/li>\n<li>Erection and ejaculation problems<\/li>\n<li>Small testicle size<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>At your first appointment\u00a0<\/u>with your doctor, you will discuss, among other things, issues related to your medical history, personal and family, and your lifestyle. It is helpful to prepare by noting:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you are taking medication, with or without a prescription<\/li>\n<li>If you are taking dietary supplements and what kind<\/li>\n<li>How often do you have unprotected sex and for how long have you been trying to conceive?<\/li>\n<li>Possible changes in your body<\/li>\n<li>Surgeries in the past and when they were performed, especially if they are related to the reproductive system.<\/li>\n<li>If you have had radiation or chemotherapy<\/li>\n<li>If you smoke and how much, if you drink alcohol and in what quantity and if you use other substances<\/li>\n<li>The history of Sexually Transmitted Diseases, if any<\/li>\n<li>Chronic diseases, such as diabetes or thyroid disorders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The causes of infertility vary and are related to health issues faced by both sexes.Sometimes infertility is inexplicable.
