George Nikolopoulos maintains a private practice and, since February 2021, is part of the staff of MITERA maternity hospital, which belongs to the HYGEIA group, the largest medical group in the country. His integration in the human resources of the new group includes cooperation with the HYGEIA IVF Athens Assisted Reproduction Unit.
George Nikolopoulos was born in Athens in 1970. He graduated from the Franco-Greek school “Lycée Léonin” in 1988 and was admitted through the Panhellenic examinations to the Medical School of the University of Athens in the same year. He graduated in 1994 with a degree of “Very Good”. After practicing rural service in Ioannina and compulsory military service, he was admitted to practice the specialty of Gynecology-Obstetrics in the UK.
During the specialisation he worked in 6 hospitals in England and Scotland, gaining experience in all areas of specialty such as obstetrics, high-risk pregnancy, modern laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery, obstetric and gynecological ultrasound, colposcopy and cervical pathology, infertility and IVF.
Upon completing his specialty, Dr. Nikolopoulos worked for 3 years as a consultant in Great Britain and specialised in Laparoscopic and Hysteroscopic Surgery, as well as Infertility and IVF, dealing with the full spectrum of infertile couples’ care and modern methods of IVF and assisted reproduction.
In 2004, after 6 years abroad, he returned to Greece. He has worked until 2010 at the “Embio” and “Diagnosis” IVF Units and, from 2010 until December of 2015, at the Assisted Reproduction Unit of the “IVF Athens Center”. He currently holds a private practice.
From 2004 to 2021, he collaborated with IASO, in the Department of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology since 2006, in the Department of Laparoscopic and Hysteroscopic Surgery since 2009, and in the IVF unit since 2015.
